Dypsis lutescens, more commonly known as the Areca Palm, comes from the Madagascar but has naturalised all around the tropics of the world. Dypsis is a flowering plant that grows as multiple stems from the base and is capable of reaching up to 12m in height (though regular pruning will make it more manageable in the vivarium). Plants are best kept in a well drained area with partial shade. Its tall, bushy stems makes it ideal as cover along backgrounds and branches.
